It was
love at first sight for me when brush first met paper and I
saw the excitement called “watercolor.” That excitement
continues today.
With a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from Syracuse
University and a major in Design, I have been exposed to
many painting mediums. However, painting in watercolor
makes up the major portion of my work today. I have also
taught in that medium for more than 25 years.
My inspiration comes from my native state of Vermont with
its lush farms and gentle mountains to the brilliant
sunsets of Florida, where I lived for nearly 18 years.
Visits to the Southwest remain etched in my memory and its
spectacular mountains will often be reflected in my
paintings.
And now, in a way, I have come almost full circle. Living
here in northern Alabama I again see the beautiful
mountains and farms of Vermont. However the hot summers and
that “southern drawl” bring me back to reality in a
hurry!
